2026 Research Grant Information
and Request For Proposals
The SCID Foundation is pleased to announce a request for research proposals for a one-time grant to be awarded in 2026. The Foundation, supported by an Educational Grant from ADMA Biologics, will provide up to $25,000 in funding for a one-year research project. Proposals should focus on one or more of the Areas of Interest outlined below.

Article I Areas of Interest
- Proposals that are focused on practical, meaningful advances for Severe Combined Immune Deficiency
- definitive treatment
- long-term follow-up
- reducing complications
- improving care management for patients on long-term enzyme replacement therapy
- improving access to care
- early diagnosis
- in the management of patients, leading up to definitive therapy for SCID
- reducing mortality and morbidity by targeting CMV to allow mothers to maintain breastfeeding of untransplanted or newly transplanted SCID patients
Article II Conditions of The Grant
- Eligible applicants should hold a Ph.D. or M.D degree. Applicants should be full-time, permanent faculty members or postdoctoral fellows with a degree in a field related to SCID, including Immunology, Hematology, Cellular Biology, Medicine, Biochemistry, Translational Research, or a similar field, at a research institute within the United States or Canada.
- The Grant Recipient/Primary Investigator must make proper acknowledgements in any posters, presentations, seminars, or journal publications resulting from the work supported by the SCID Foundation. Both the SCID Foundation and ADMA Biologics are to receive acknowledgements by stating “with support from the SCID Foundation, and an Educational Grant from ADMA Biologics”. The grant recipient will notify the SCID Foundation of all publications resulting from any work supported by the grant.
- Permitted expenses include a contribution towards the salary of the primary investigator, co-investigators, and support staff, plus equipment and supplies specifically required to complete the project’s aims. In addition, the costs associated with the publication of the research are permitted. Institutional Overhead Payments (IOP) may be requested and should be identified in the budget. IOP shall not exceed 7.5%. IOP is to be paid out of the amount funded, not in addition to it.
- General information regarding the recipient and the research project being funded may be posted on the SCID Foundation’s website or social media.
- The Grant Recipient/Primary Investigator must submit a final written progress report, scientific summary, and a copy of a submitted work product (manuscript, abstract, poster presentation, etc.) to the SCID Foundation at the conclusion of the award period. The recipient may also be asked to present the results of their research at a future SCID Foundation closed board meeting or at a public webinar, if the research or information has been published or otherwise made public.
- The project should be carried out within 1 year of initial funding.
- Any funds not utilized will be returned to the SCID Foundation.

- Comment on your specific clinical research interests, limited to no more than 1 page
- A list of prior relevant publications may be included but is not required
- Detailed Research Proposal
- Title of Project
- Selection of Area of Interest
- A project timeline, including the percentage of time dedicated to this trial, limited to no more than 1 page
- Selection of Area of Interest
- Brief description of how the outcome of this research will support the Area(s) of Interest
- Budget and Budget Justification, limit length to approximately 2 pages
- Description: Outline the specific aims, background, methodology, purpose, and goals of the intended project, limited to a maximum of 2 to 4 pages

- Additional Documentation
- Any additional documentation, if applicable including, but not limited to documentation that shows approval by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee for animal studies or by the Institutional Review Board for human studies from the grantee institution, if applicable
- Any additional comments, documentation, or approvals relevant to the project
Article IV Award and Disbursement
- Complete and relevant proposals will be reviewed by the SCID Foundation’s Research Grant Committee. Any conflicts of interest will be disclosed in the review minutes and will be reported on grant approvals.
- Disbursement of funds will be made after the approval and execution of the Grant Agreement by the institution’s Grant Administrator.
