2026 Research Grant Information
and Request for Proposals
Call for Proposals Opening Soon
The SCID Foundation is pleased to announce an upcoming Request for Proposals (RFP) for the SCID Foundation Research Grant Program. Through this program, the Foundation will award one one-time grant of up to $25,000 to support a one-year project.
The goal of the SCID Foundation Research Grant Program is to support research and related initiatives that improve outcomes and quality of life for individuals affected by Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID). We seek to fund practical, meaningful projects that advance treatment, long-term follow-up care, reduction of late complications, access to care, and early diagnosis, particularly for families facing systemic or logistical barriers.
For this grant cycle, special consideration will be given to proposals addressing the risk of Cytomegalovirus infection (CMV) transmission through breastfeeding in newborns with Severe Combined Immune Deficiency. We welcome innovative projects that explore safe and effective strategies to reduce CMV-related illness and mortality while preserving the well-established benefits of breastfeeding whenever possible. This issue is of particular importance to families navigating a new diagnosis of SCID in their newborn.
Grants of this size are particularly well-suited to fellows, postdoctoral researchers, and junior faculty who are launching new projects or exploring emerging areas of interest. The Foundation’s goal is to provide seed funding to help promising investigators initiate impactful studies, surveys, quality improvement initiatives, or patient-centered outreach efforts that can lead to meaningful advances for the SCID community.
Additional details, including eligibility requirements, proposal guidelines, and submission deadlines, will be announced soon. Please bookmark this page or follow the SCID Foundation’s Facebook page for updates and announcements.
